Approximately 10 years ago, a group of ladies who love sewing and fellowship recognized needs in the community and decided to put their passion and their talents to good use. The ladies formed “The Stitched With Love” quilting group. The group meets every Tuesday afternoon for a time of fellowship and sewing.
The quilts are made regularly to give to friends of the church, church members, or others based on the recommendations from our pastor, such as those who are ill or have experienced a recent death. These are throw-size quilts that are signed and dated, commemorating the handiwork and love that went into making the quilts.
The group also makes fleece blankets for younger children that face the trauma of being removed from their homes. Child-sized quilts have also been made and donated to local hospitals.
Every year, a queen-sized quilt is made and raffled off at our Christmas Bazaar. The proceeds raised are donated to charity. Over $1,000 has been donated to help meet community needs, such as women’s shelters and mission work for dental services not covered by Medicare for children throughout Christian County.
We welcome any members and friends that love to quilt, sew, and enjoy lively conversation while working on projects for the betterment of our community to join us!
