Our worship draws upon the full biblical tradition of God’s people assembling for praise and prayer with the goal of proclaiming the good news of salvation and invite all who hear to follow and serve Jesus Christ. In worship we acknowledge God’s presence in the world and in our lives. We believe in worship based on the Word of God as revealed through Scripture. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves, to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. We observe two sacraments: Baptism, which celebrates our entrance into the family of God, and the Lord’s Supper, which celebrates Christ’s perpetual resurrected presence among us.

We have an active bell choir that complements our music program.

In the Sacrament of Baptism, we baptize both children and adults after a period of preparation. One of the most comforting parts of baptisms in our tradition is that we don’t ask just parents or the person being baptized to make baptismal vows, but we as a congregation make vows as well. We vow to love and care for each child of God and to help support them in their growth as a faithful believer.

Communion is the second of the two sacraments we celebrate according to our faith. On the first Sunday of every month, and on other special occasions throughout the year, we serve Communion during worship. At OPC we have what we call an “open table”. That means that whoever you are, member or visitor alike, you are welcome at our table to celebrate the Lord’s Supper with us.

Special services are held throughout the church calendar.

Much like the holidays and seasons of the calendar year, we also celebrate special days and seasons of the church year. We celebrate the well-known Christian holidays like Christmas and Easter, but also Pentecost, World Communion Sunday, and All Saints’ Day. We make a special effort during the seasons of Advent and Lent to prepare ourselves for the work God is doing in the world and this is often seen in our worship services.

We would like to invite you to worship with us at any time, either in person or online on our YouTube channel and Facebook Page. All are welcome!
